But inevitability is a myth. [WeWork] mistook momentum for product-market fit and valuation for validation.

Just read someone say
AI makes the humanities more important.
However this raises a question - are we still talking about humanities? Are we all just programmers using a humanities-focused language to direct the models that we run?
No great thoughts were had this tuesday.
The only question is whether we manage degrowth or just let it happen to us. This isn’t a neutral question. I know which one of these is worse.

Just stumbled over the term

Recently started thinking about how "culture eats anything for breakfast" is more true than I thought before[1,2].
This spurred two thoughts:
A. In what way can we harness cultural learning in (re)building our society and developing it forward -- how many cultural learnings have we discarded, and how many can we still learn from?
B. Which other expressions like the above are "super-true" - without us/me realizing it?

Being an
adult is hard.
Realizing that other people are not always adults is probably the most difficult part.
This has had me thinking a lot about:
"How do you foster humility in others while remaining humble yourself?"
Sometimes present beats always around
Turns out consensus is hard.
Also turns out other collective living situations
are experiencing the
same issues.
Wonder if there is a golden path to more collective living. And if so, what does that look like?
One note on Google’s AI summaries: They’re designed to answer a question, rather than provide a right answer. That’s a distinction that needs to be made, because it speaks to the underlying utility of this product.
Note to self: Make sure any AI summary app is designed to provide an answer, not answer a question. Thanks,
Ed
writing comes in handy as a trace of emotional state; sad, excited, motivated, depressed. Corrolary to this, reading it becomes a recall of such states.
"increase in efficiency" and "increased inefficiency" are homophones when speaking fast. Note to self.
Hiring / selection / evaluation is hard because in order to do it well you need to examine and inhibit your own biases.
This is non-trivial and cannot happen on demand, and if it isn't done there's a high probability of misselection.
Empty time has the potential to be filled with great things.

Adam and his wife were both naked and they felt no shame.
[Until] they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
If [the] creation is divine, is the reason
we don't participate is that we are afraid to be naked?
Is the tech industry's creation of new habits among consumers a
increase in addictive behaviors?
Or is it just
replacing previous behaviors
Were humans in the past equally addicted, stuck in habit loops, as humans of the 2020s?
Were they just not constantly measured and aware of their addictions?
Were the things they were addicted to less harmful because the harmful things were less available/capitalized/weaponized?
Has the internet's pervasive entry into every day absolved the possibility of societal/taboo-regulation of addictive behaviors?
